"Journey Into Manhood" - Nightline Report
Nightline report follows Preston as he attends a "Journey Into Manhood" weekend. The report focuses on the benefits and some controversy on this and other reparative therapy techniques.
"Journey Into Manhood" is part of People Can Change. It is not a religious organization, although they do teach the spiritual principle of surrender to a Higher Power. It's not professional therapy, but rather a peer-led experience run by men who have made the journey. This particular program is a 48-hour immersion in self-discovery, catharsis, and emotional healing. They create a highly supportive, yet challenging, environment designed specially for men who are serious about resolving unwanted homosexual attractions. It's an experiential weekend - meaning you won't just sit and listen, you'll experience, actively participate, connect and explore. "Journey Into Manhood" is offered at camps and retreat centers about eight times a year throughout the U.S. and in England.

People Can Change is a non-profit educational, support and outreach organization that is best known for its life-changing "Journey Into Manhood" weekend experience, which PCC offers across the US and in England. People Can Change is not a religious ministry and is not affiliated with any religious faith or organization. The mission of PCC is to support and guide men who seek to transition away from unwanted homosexuality by courageously and compassionately sharing our own first-hand experiences. We also provide information and support to family and friends, especially wives. We envision a world in which all people with unwanted same-sex attractions who wish to reduce or eliminate their homosexual feelings have access to meaningful and effective resources and successful role models, and are free to pursue a path of change, if they so choose, without shame or ridicule.
